Russia’s Rosneft says discovers 8 fields in January–March

MOSCOW, Apr 4 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Rosneft discovered eight hydrocarbon fields in January–March with combined reserves of more than 5 million tonnes of oil equivalent, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company discovered fields during geological exploration in Siberia, the Urals, and on the Volga river. The company plans to increase the amount of drilled wells in the regions by 40% on the year in 2017, and to carry out 4,500 kilometers of 2D seismic exploration on the Taimyr Peninsula, Rosneft said.

As of January 1, Rosneft’s recoverable reserves of oil and condensate stood at 12.2 billion tonnes and natural gas reserves amounted to 7.6 trillion cubic meters under A, B1, C1, B2, and C2 categories. In 2016, Rosneft discovered 13 fields and 127 deposits with combined reserves of 207 million tonnes of oil equivalent, and the hydrocarbon reserve replacement ratio amounted to 126% in the year, including the ratio of 114% on liquid hydrocarbons.
